Out of nowhere, because of a certain problem I could not endure...  I've accidentally made this one, which I could not think of a suitable title and I already forgot the exact date when did I made this but its just a recent composition of mine . I could not even consider this as a poem, still -- just feel free to read:
(I made this as my BIO in my facebook account.)

I'm the kind of
person who has
DIFFICULTY in
expressing oneself...

Whenever I have problems,
I just KEEP it to myself
as if nothing had gone
really awful...

When I'm hurtin' so much,
TEARS do speak for me
when my mouth cannot express
the right words to say...

I mustn't lose HOPE,
but sometimes,
the words "give up"
come through my way...

I'm also just like
any other GIRL
you knew who has
her own heartaches...

But, they're not
just like the kind of
heartache you
may seem KNOW...

Bear in mind, that
HEARTACHES are not
only meant for those
who are in-love...

True Happiness

As I browse on my account in the famous social site Facebook, I have happen upon on a fan page and little did I know, despite of the fact that it's already past midnight, serendipity made me aware of this great man who have made me smile for his enormous LOVE for my dearest country. He made me realize that nothing can beats TRUE HAPPINESS. That no matter what happen, pursue your dreams despite all the odds that may hinder you from reaching it, nothing will be impossible if only just determination with a pure heart within YOU will reign, kitto (surely), the happiness you greatly desire will be granted.

David's photo compilation of his every sojourn in different
places in the Philippines with LOVE.

Coconuter as he refer himself, David Eric Poarch originally rooted from the land of Subic, Zambales, where he had spent 7 years before entirely going abroad. The Subic Naval Base is the turning point of his parents for it is where their crossroads met.  His mother, Marilyn Marang, who is a Filipino teacher and his father, Robert Poarch, an american navy man who happened to be transferred from Subic to Texas in 1993.

This occurrence made David's family, including him, oblige to leave Philippines and in which also, brought a momentous change in his life. For more than 13 years since they have migrated to Texas, he deeply yearns for his beloved Philippines,  where he grew up and earned lots of wonderful memories. Even from the start, David definitely wanted to stay on his hometown. He find it hard to fit in and adapt the many changes in his newly-known surrounding, and which it made him feel really stress. He was even ask by a classmate, "What are you?". Every tease he gets contributed to his becoming of unsociable and loner person.  But in spite of these, he found the strength to say that he has a descent of half-Filipino and half American. And through passing time, regardless of all the struggles he have met, he did manage to cope all of these, he even excelled in his academics and became more competitive than ever which made him successful. From the Pearland High School, he graduated as a valedictorian and gained a full scholarship in Ivy League Rice University, pursuing the course in electrical and computer engineering that paid-off all his every effort and sweat he made through the years. He is certainly not just your typical 20-year old Fil-am boy you would know. He is a true man with not only brains but with also a great humble heart.

their Psychology class.
*I heard someone yelled here SEXY! Yah~ Oh well, sure, he is!!*

In the end, however, after schooling in Ivy League for 2 years, he went back home to his motherland. Withstanding just having $200 on his pocket, he managed to live alone in a house vacated by his maternal grandmother who also migrated in the States. And as often as not, he goes trekking for him to reabsorb the Philippine culture he had missed. Plowing the fields would not definitely be a major concern for him because he really enjoys doing such work.

In due course, David will be a regular contributor of a magazine which is dedicated to OFWs based in Dubai so-called as Ilustrado and which said to be launching soon.

Whatta Shame!

Today, I have something special to present to you (NOTE: I am doing this because my copy of our school paper was *intentionally or accidentally?! just kidding~ XD* misplaced by my gorgeous sister V^_^) - it's a back issue of one of my featured articles, this one is entitled Cheating: A Shame! This article was originally entitled as: Cheating: A Foe (if I wasn't mistaken~!) and it was located in the opinion section on our HS official publication or school paper.

Okay... Without further ado, here it is, douzo~!

**************************
Some students like us are in immense relief once the weekend comes. We hope that it is already Friday for us to give ourselves a gargantuan  break for a long strenuous working of assignments, the tedious talk and stunning ticking-off of our great teachers, an endeavor in projects just to pass the deadline in last two minutes, and especially for the outrageous and nose-bleeding exams that we are all experiencing.

For the rest of our school days when the time that there are homeworks, seatworks, quizzes, long examinations, cheating is always present. But the thing is, why can't we avoid such cheating? How can we steer clear of this? What will be the effect of this unto us?

We've always known that cheating is a bad custom. Few of us are hard to pass it up particularly if it becomes a habit. One starts to cheat when time is not well managed. As soon as time runs out he will have no choice other than to cheat or else he will have a disgraceful low grade and the worst of all, he might fail. But for some reason, idleness and frivolousness is the rational behind. If one could only just have time-management and proper implementation of it. What is the use of the virtues and good morals we have learned in our studies principally in Values? We should also apply what we have learned from our parents and elders. We should learn to avert this kind of norm; have self-control. Otherwise, one will begin to depend on others and will not be capable of doing things on his own. In the end, you will be regretful and you will continuously say to yourself, "If I could just turn back time..."

Remember that none of us was born a knucklehead. You should just have self-training; always keep in mind that first thing comes first. Don't practice what they call cramming habit; once that the deadline is near is the only time that you will pass your work. Have self-discipline for it is the key to success. Also, develop the habit of reading in advance, especially before coming across all sorts of examination like long and short quizzes, seatworks, assignments, and the like. And all in all, read (do not just glance on it, or do not just run through the pages only to enjoy seeing the colorful pictures) any reading materials especially in English, for it boosts our reading comprehension particularly our language fluency and proficiency.

Moreover, one should never consider oneself an inane person. It will become a fact if you do such thing; do not be so pessimistic. We should think a million times before we decide, we should also take all the consequences of what we are doing. Learn by heart that one false move, one reckless decision, everything will be lost, but whoever never made a mistake, never accomplished anything.

The Decline of Admiration

The Decline of Admiration

For the past years, I have this someone whom I valued so much from my 2nd year in grade school until the present. I am yet more troubled when lately I have dreamt of him. Even more, I wonder why it happened as such, though I have had dreams of him for quite a lot of times. And it really irritates me for I wanted to get rid of him in my thoughts already.

At first I thought he was kind and has a good personality but, I end up becoming wrong. My sister was right when she stated, “He’s arrogant”, and that simple statement shows that she doesn’t really like people with that similar trait. And recently, I’ve found out his true colors, for I never knew his real characteristics because, way back to our grade school on our 3rd year, he transferred to another school, which is the NEU.  Then, I learned that he is somewhat perverted, and together with his associates or should I call it “partners-in-crime”, they do their silly acts. Not to mention that this person I am pertaining is well-known in their campus, he has the looks and the brain, and he’s even rich, or in short, he has the image of a heartthrob. Until all of these characteristics that he has made him so proud, to the point that he doesn’t want to acquire duty to the church, even the lightest obligation you could take for he supposed that this could become the hindrance to his studies and be an obstacle for him to achieve high grades. You could also consider him as a chickboy. He has this kind of outrageous principle, “Why I must need to court a girl, when they are the ones who are showing off”, and if he had the chance, he could even say “From that, I could just simply collect and select”.

I was really turned off of what I have sorted out. These really got into my nerves, and made my blood boil and nearly reach its highest point. I thought I knew him already, but then, when I came back to myself, I just realized that I made a bad choice, and maybe I am not that good in scrutinizing someone else’s personality. And from then on, I attempted to erase him from my thoughts, and forget that he became special to me. I tried familiarizing myself from not doing the things which I’m used to: to think about him, to reminsce the memories I have with him and the like. However, it really bothers me when all of a sudden; I am starting to recollect something about him which makes me nag myself.

But I presume that my feeling towards him is already declining and so do I thought… I don’t consider this feeling of mine to this particular someone as love. I believe that what I feel is just an infatuation for I never did consider myself to be in love with anyone yet.

The Bark Man

Yesterday, when I was browsing one of the photos of my friends on Facebook, I spotted a very interesting picture which has an exquisite story behind it. I was shock and empathize the man behind it.

In order for you to picture out clearly what I'm talking about, let me share to you the story of THE BARK MAN .

Dede Koswara, known in his native Indonesia as "Tree Man," has lived for years with rapidly spreading warts that have covered his entire body in a case that has baffled doctors.

The 37-year-old has been undergoing a radical transformation at a tropical hospital in Bandung and in the time it takes to conceive and give birth to new life, a team of local doctors have performed eight major operations involving an electric saw, skin grafting and the removal of pounds of dead skin tissue hardened by the years.
Dede, a father of two who goes by his first name, is expected to return home to his remote village at the end of this month. His parents, siblings and children have been visiting him regularly at the hospital.
"The surgery of Dede is not perfect, but the results meet what we hoped or expected," said Dr. Hardisiswo Soedjana, a leading plastic surgeon in Indonesia and the head doctor in Dede's case.
In the coming months, Dede will return to Hasan Sadikin hospital for at least two more major surgeries. Doctors will continue to work on his immune system and find ways to cope with the challenges of excessive bleeding during operations, the deep growth of his warts and the search for more skin donors.
It wasn't until Dede was a teenager that what started as a simple wart on his knee spiraled his life out of control. They started spreading over his entire body as a result of the human papillomavirus, or HPV.

Common Disease With Uncommon Results

It is a common virus that approximately 20 million Americans live with, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some without even knowing it.
"The wart gets into your skin and makes the skin grow out of control," said dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman. "It grows above the skin. It grows into the skin."
However in Dede's case, the warts had run wild, creating a medical mystery for doctors.
"Some people don't do well with the treatments because their immune system isn't that good at fighting the virus," Jaliman said.

At left, Dede in 2007 gnarled growths sprouting from his hands and feet,
sits in front of his house in the village of Tanjung Jaya in Indonesia.
At right, Dede's condition has improved in 2008 after undergoing
several surgeries to remove the bark-like growths from his skin (Reuter/ABC)

Doctors diagnosed Dede as having an immune deficiency. It was, in a way, a "perfect storm" of dermatology. The combination of the incredibly common HPV and his incredibly rare immune deficiency caused Dede's warts to form growths that resembled tree bark and roots -- growths that eventually took over control of his body.
Soon Dede lost the ability to perform daily functions, or even hold his children, because of the weight of his hands and feet.
Becoming 'Tree Man'

He lost his job and left his village to earn a living the only way he knew how -- begging on the city streets.
It was there that he met Hanny of Hanny Enterprise, an organization that hosts the most sensational carnival-like shows in the country. Dede became a rising star, known as Tree Man.
Ironically, Hanny's success at building Dede's fame as Tree Man may have lead to his medical treatments.
Doctors became as curious as the public and the media were about his condition.
American doctor Anthony Gaspari is part of the team that set a plan in motion to treat Dede to "control the tumorous growths and to restore his immune system," he said at an earlier news conference.
"We have a lot of room to improve the patient's condition and improve the quality of his life, improve his appearance, improve his ability to use his hands," Gaspari said.
Hospital staff today say Dede is in good spirits, has put on healthy weight and is happy to be returning home.
Though it's unlikely that Dede will ever be free of all traces of disease, his treatment will give him a chance to go back to his village, to be with his family and friends and lead a new life approaching normal.

---------------------------------

So the condition of Dede had gone well... I wonder how he is now? And if he's operation had really gone well. I really feel sorry for him, it seems like his indeed suffering from his situation, and having those kind of hands and feet would surely deprive him from doing things particularly his work.

I know how it feels to have a problem like that, though Dede's side is more severe compared to mine. Actually I have this kind of skin disease called 'Eczema'. According to Wikipedia, it is a disease in a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the epidermis. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes that are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. Areas of temporary skin discoloration may appear and are sometimes due to healed lesions. Scratching open a healing lesion may result in scarring. Eczema may be confused with urticaria. In contrast to psoriasis, eczema is often likely to be found on the flexor aspect of joints.

However, I really don't know which type of eczema I have. I have this since I was a child, it disappeared temporarily but when the weather is cold, my legs start to feel itchy and I can't stop but to scratch it. And then, lesions will gradually form, and it's akin to islets or scales.  It's really frustrating when it heals for a brief count afterwards it will come back and it will look like the way before it was. We have tried a lot of methods and ointments to lather on it, nonetheless none of them take the best effect. We had even gone to a dermatologist, but my mistake was to refuse to some of her prescriptions, for it appears to be just a waste of money for me, disregarding my own sake, and also due to my frugality . I was really  remorseful back then when I took no notice of what is to be done for my eczema to be well-treated. I really regret those days, wish I could turn back time. From my own experience, I could conclude that, 'No one will ever learn his lessons and be sorry for it, until the mistake was already said and done.'

Similar to what SYDNEY J. HARRIS quoted:

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time;
it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.

On the other hand, HENRY DAVID THOREAU said:

Make the most of your regrets...
to regret deeply is to live afresh.

And for PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY:

Fear not for the future,
weep not for the past.
